Human’s Nature
This series reimagines the tradition of scientific illustration by integrating elements of pollution, capturing the beauty of organic forms intertwined with artificial substitutions. Our tendency to accumulate waste and release it into the environment remains largely unchecked. Despite decades of awareness regarding the climate crisis, our governments, legislation, and daily habits often fall short of enacting the essential changes needed to address this global degradation.
Contemporary behaviors generate single-use waste, contributing to vast islands of plastic floating in our oceans. Scientific illustration serves as a crucial tool for cataloging biological organisms, enabling us to study and understand them. If we continue on our current trajectory, we cannot be surprised by the consequences of our (in)action. Instead, we must confront the tragedy and beauty within the cataclysmic mess we have created.
